We’ve got an early prototype video of Tree. We can’t stress enough how basic this build is.
In it you can see branches and roots, each with buds [or nodes] on their ends. You can navigate between these nodes before placing young twigs or fine-roots. These in turn grow into fully mature branches or roots respectively.
The real game is the full gaming economy working under the hood, which Ben is taking care of. The player will have to carefully grow the tree towards sunlight and water and manage the resulting growth mass which can be allocated anywhere. It will be a persistent game, so in short it is a digital tree, a digital bonsai if you will, which you take care of and grow over time.
We hope to put up an updated video by the end of the week which integrates that economy as well as replacements for the placeholder art.
